Review the official regulations here: Manitoba Anglers’ Guide
In Manitoba, anglers must use barbless hooks. A barbless hook is a hook with no barbs or barbs that have been compressed to be in complete contact with the shaft of the hook. Barbless hooks may have barbs on the shank for holding bait. When you are fishing, the hooks attached to all your lines, whether in use or not, must be barbless. Barbed hooks may be kept in the tackle box.
Manitoba’s Master Angler Program – the oldest master angler program in North America – honours anglers who catch trophy fish in our province with certificates of achievement and a variety of eligible badges.
A Master Angler walleye (or Greenback as we like to call them on Lake Winnipeg) must be at least 71 cm (28 in).

Our launch point is approximately 45 minutes north of Winnipeg on Lake Winnipeg. We will provide you with detailed driving instructions including where to leave your vehicle.
If you need lodging on either side of your stay in one of our Yettis, we recommend reserving lodging in Selkirk, MB.
We provide ALL the ice fishing equipment you need. If you have a favorite rod and a small amount of tackle, we welcome a few extra items. However, you can leave the electronics, ice auger, etc. at home. We’ll do all the heavy lifting, we’re just relying on YOU to catch the fish.
If you’re considering any outdoor hole hopping or using the Yetti as a homebase while run-n-gunning, you’ll also need the following. We recommend bringing them along regardless just in case they are needed, but while you’re in the Yetti, you’ll be set to fish all day in your t-shirt.
If we didn’t answer it here, we’re happy to chat. Give us a call, shoot an email, or submit our contact form and we’ll be in touch.
