Review the official regulations here: Manitoba Anglers’ Guide
In Manitoba, anglers must use barbless hooks. A barbless hook is a hook with no barbs or barbs that have been compressed to be in complete contact with the shaft of the hook. Barbless hooks may have barbs on the shank for holding bait. When you are fishing, the hooks attached to all your lines, whether in use or not, must be barbless. Barbed hooks may be kept in the tackle box.
Manitoba’s Master Angler Program – the oldest master angler program in North America – honours anglers who catch trophy fish in our province with certificates of achievement and a variety of eligible badges.
A Master Angler walleye (or Greenback as we like to call them on Lake Winnipeg) must be at least 71 cm (28 in).

We provide ALL the gear. If you have a favorite rod and perhaps a small amount of tackle, we welcome a few extra items. However, you can leave the fishing electronics and the rest of the gear at home. We’ll do all the heavy lifting, we’re just relying on YOU to catch the fish.
